On Thursday June 26th. Mobile Track Solutions hosted the governor and lt. governor of Iowa.  We were honored to have both Iowa Governor Terry Branstad and LT. Governor Kim Reynolds in attendance.  This event gave us the opportunity to showcase the strength of manufacturing in Iowa.  Short speeches, followed by a Q and A session, allowed those in attendance to discuss issues important to Iowan's.  Our company has a long  history of opening up our doors to public officials, the photo above shows the governor, lt. governor and our companies owner John P. Moyna.  Thanks to all in attendance.

Our booth at CONEXPO 2014 was all a buzz. A chance to see a vintage 1923 BEST 60 tractor attracted quite a crowd. It was however the MTS products on display that really had people talking. Our tractor offerings (MT-450T and MT-450W) coupled with our pull scraper models (MT-35, MT-35XL, and MT-35LGP)showed our visitors a practical and productive way to move massive amounts of material. CONEXPO 2014 was the official debut of the MT-30, a construction grade scraper designed to be pulled by ag tractors. We really enjoyed talking with our current customers and meeting new ones.

MTS opened its doors Saturday, March 30th to welcome over 60 members of the Iowa Chapter of ACMOC.  ACMOC is dedicated to assisting and educating its members, and the general public, to appreciate the historic role of Caterpillar® machinery in shaping the world. The group had a chance to learn more about MTS, and how Caterpillar OEMSG plays an integral part in the product that MTS produces.  This was followed by a meal, and a tour of the MTS factory floor, but the best was reserved for last.  The group had an open door access to the C.J. Moyna & Sons private collection of antique Caterpillar dozers.  At the top of the favorites list was the 1923 Best 60 fully restored. MTS has always cherished the hard work that has gone into establishing the industry that we're currently in, and look forward to more ACMOC meetings into the future.  More information on ACMOC can be found on their site: http://www.acmoc.org/

Mobile Track Solutions is an active participant in our local community.  Our relationship with local high schools, community colleges, and universities is something we are proud of.  Tours, field trips, career fairs, and mentoring activities are just a few of the things we offer.  Last October Mobile Track Solutions hosted a manufacturing day.  This day-long event allowed us to open our doors to students from surrounding school districts as well as the general public.  The photo above was taken Friday May 2nd.  These MFL-Mar Mac students had an opportunity to not only visit our facilities, but engage in activities such as welding and operating a mini back hoe. Mobile Track Solutions has a lot to offer.  In manufacturing when you help others it ultimately helps you.  many of our current employees are graduates of local schools.

Change is in the air at the factory.  Currently the second building on the factory grounds is taking shape.  This building will house the paint facility & and the inventory for MTS. This move makes MTS more self-reliant as our product line-up becomes more diverse. What can members do? Members can follow each other, write and reply to comments and receive blog notifications. Each member gets their own personal profile page that they can customize. As the work season in the United States approaches, Elkader, Iowa has become a hub for shipping disks across the nation. Sending them to such places as Indiana, New York, Mississippi,Missouri, and Minnesota.  Besides producing a construction grade disk superior to the competition, MTS can assist customers by providing the ability to ship up to 3 disks at a time. This helps to lower the cost to the end user.  The disk shown above are on their way to Ziegler Cat in Minneapolis Minnesota for their rental fleet.

The MTS plant is designed to accommodate expansion. This January a 21,600 sq. ft. expansion project was completed. This new addition houses a power wash bay, paint prep booth, steel grit blasting bay, and a state of the art paint booth. The other half of this new facility is committed to inventory. A new loading dock and bar coding system will enhance our shipping and receiving capabilities. Future plans include expanded dry storage, additional office and a connected satellite building with a second break room.
